Sucks to Be This Smallville Actor: He Loses Girlfriend to Hefner, Now He's Going to Prison!
Lex Luthor, you're getting a new cell mate.
Sam Jones III, the 28-year-old actor who played Clark Kent's best buddy on the first three seasons Smallville, was sentenced today to a year in prison for conspiring to sell more than 10,000 doses of kryptonite the painkiller oxycodone, better known by its street name "hillbilly heroin."
And that might not even be the worst thing that happened to him in the past week...

Just last week, his ex-girlfriend, Karissa Shannon (one-half of the 21-year-old Shannon twins), packed up and moved out of his place and into the Bunny House to be with Hugh Hefner.
Ouch. Well, he'll be making some new friends where he's going now.
Per Thom Mrozek, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office, in addition to the jail term, U.S. District Judge Robert H. Whaley ordered Jones to serve three years' supervised probation once he's released from a federal lockup.
He got into this mess in 2009, when he was busted in a raid at his Canoga, Calif. home conducted by DEA agents looking to shut down a drug ring trading in the illegal purchase and distribution of OxyContin.
According to prosecutors, Jones was a coconspirator in the scheme, dubbed the "Hollywood Connection," and found guilty last December.
Good thing he took today's reckoning in stride.
"Just got out of court! God is great!!" Jones, who describes himself on Twitter as an "actor/CEO/Mogul," tweeted after the hearing.
Jones remains free on bond until he surrenders to authorities to begin serving his sentence.
